Half Price Memberships: October 6 through 11. Buy a new membership or renew and existing one -- only $10 for a annual membership. You may renew in advance, for example, if your current membership expires in 2015, you may renew to 2016.
Alberta Author Reading: Lorraine Lohr Cathro, author of Roots and Adventures: A Prairie Childhood. Blending history and memoir, Lorraine's book is a collection of stories of family, farming and life on the Alberta prairies. Wednesday, October 1, 1-2:30pm in the County Room in the LMC. This even is free to attend and refreshments will be served.
New Literary Series: A Season of P.D. James: Join Denise Herr (PhD English) to read and discuss selected works of legendary English crime author P.D. James. The first meeting will be on Thursday, October 9 at 7pm in the Rotary Room of the LMC. The first book to be discussed is Devices and Desires.
Children's Programs: Regular children's programming are back in session. Registration began Monday, Agust 25 at 10am! There are still a few spaces remaining in our after school programs for ages 6-8 and 9-13, and all other classes are full. Click here for more information. Registration for 2015 programs begins January 5 at 10am, and classes begin January 12. More information on these programs will be available nearer the time -- check back for updates.
The City of Lacombe Public Library Board Meetings: Held the fourth Tuesday of the month (except July, August & December) at 7pm in the History Room of MCMPL. These meetings are open to the public. A list of current board members and other information available here.
